Yes — transitioning can feel like stepping off a cliff if you don’t have the right support. We went through that with my daughter, and Gateway Counseling Center was a lifeline. Their council for developmental disabilities services include everything from service coordination and habilitation programs to behavioral support. What stood out to us was how they treat every individual as capable of growth, regardless of their challenges. They sat with us for hours to map out a plan that respected her needs but also pushed her toward more independence. I honestly don’t know where we’d be without them
